Well, the trip from Summit Lake to Hudson's Hope was full of excitement, mostly good weather with the exception of some rain off and on, including one day of torrential downpours. I'll have to be very brief with this update as I'm at a public library with only one hour to type...forgot my disks back in the canoe!
The paddle from Summit Lake down to the start of the Crooked River was very peaceful. Calm water with not even a ripple to be seen, beautiful scenery all around and a bright, cloudless sky for the most part. Summit Lake is where the "Artic Watershed" portion of my journey begins and is the water I'm paddling on for the next month and a half, roughly. It eventually drains into the Artic Ocean, whereas everything thus far was on waters emptying into the Pacific Ocean.
Cheers…Joe O’Blenis
