University of Florida Canoe and Rafting Club
Gainesville, FL
US
The UF Canoe and Rafting Club (UFCC) is a University of Florida sports club composed of students, faculty and staff members of the University of Florida who share an interest in canoeing, rafting, kayaking and other outdoor activities. Our goal is to provide the UF community a group where they can meet people who share an interest in paddle sports.
The UFCC requires no experience, no dues, no special gear. The club trains it members, runs trips at cost and provides canoes, paddles, life jackets, etc. Members are required to fill out a personal data sheet and a liability waiver and take a swim test.
The club meets weekly year round on Tuesday from 6 p.m. until about 6:30 p.m at Turlington Room 2350 on the University of Florida campus. At the meetings we welcome new members, discuss the previous week's trip and plan the next weekend's trip. All meetings are open to any UF student, faculty or staff. If you are interested in the club, come to the next meeting! Attendance is not mandatory, however it is the only way to get to know others in the club and sign up for trips.
