The Stanford Kayak Club is open to anyone in the Stanford Community Proper-- students, staff, and faculty. Anyone outside the Stanford Community, including Stanford Alumni, is welcome to participate in Club Activities but may not use club equipment. Prospective members are entitled to 2 uses of club equipment (limited to pool sesions) before paying membership dues, unless participating in a technique clinique. Clinic participants are required to pay membership dues before the clinic begins. Membership dues are $80 and entitle a member to unlimited use of club equipment for the academic year, access to which is under supervision of a key holder. Dues may be halved for those members that organize and/or direct clinics.
The Stanford Kayak Club promotes the sport of whitewater kayaking, but does not assume responsibility for any personally directed activities that members may participate in. While the club promotes access of the sport through joint ownership of equipment, the club does not sponser river trips. All use of equipement is strictly by the personal choice of club members.
The Stanford Kayak Club encourages a safe and responsible approach to whitewater paddling through the exchange of knowledge and techniques, as well as providing a basis for paddlers to meet and organize trips together.
