The Kansas City WhiteWater Club is a dedicated, active, and friendly group of whitewater enthusiasts. We're kayakers, open boaters, canoeists, rafters; we travel, practice, celebrate, and educate. We welcome everyone.
You might think Kansas City is a somewhat awkward location for whitewater sports, but you'd only be halfway right. We're quite a ways from any whitewater hot spots, that's right, but we're mobile. And when KCWC people take a trip, it's an event, a fiesta, a shin dig — it's a rolling celebration, we're so happy to be heading out!
We also have the Kaw rapids right outside of town, which means we get great practice and great workout any time we want. Big holes, little holes, waves, chutes, and jets. And when the Kaw gets big, we're talking big water, not to be trifled with. Big is how we like the Little Blue as well. A cozy creek under normal conditions, after a good Kansas City rain storm it swells to a play-all-day, wave-surfing humdinger of a river right here within city limits.
