Hello from Baja Mexico!

Well...welcome to the EP blog. Currently the crew, or at least some of it is in Baja Mexico looking for surf. We´ve found a few good breaks, but, more than anything else, we´re looking, waiting, and playing on the beach. I can´t complain.

Karl, LJ, and myself hopped in the EP Suby and made the over 20 hour drive with one of our close nonkayaker friends, Carley. We stayed at La Fonda the first night in Mexico, just south of Tiujana. Some ok waves, dirty beaches, and great burritos. Next we headed down to Punta Cabras, a beautiful headland with beaches on either side of the point, again OK waves, and an absolutely beautiful camping spot. Now we´re still on the search for waves. Looks like a good north swell is brewing, so hopefully we´ll get some sick waves and great video. Luck is sorta with us so far in that we´ve not been hassled or questioned by the Federales with sawed offs or machine guns. We´ve also avoided los ladrones (thieves) we´ve heard so many stories about. Surfers being held up at gun point and such, a little surf and we´ll be set! (Everyone think big waves in Baja!)

peace,
trip

Trip, I have surfed, camped, sea kayaked and more in Baja for the past 5 years. You gotta go to Punta Conejo. It is just north of La Paz on the Pacific side. Great surf and it can carry a crowd well. Excellent bluff camping, incredible fishing and amazing sunsets. Check it out.
