Kristin Boese: Kitesurf Girls

I had a fabulous week in Tarifa! I only went kiting when I really wanted to and actually had a lot of fun doing it. I have even been practicing for four hours at the time and enjoyed myself so much that I learned some new moves without even pushing very hard. It was just great! Other than kiting I went out with some friends, cheered for DJ and Kite Pro Gianni Aragno in the discotheques and had some time for myself and for relaxing. Afterwards I felt very refreshed and full of energy and I knew I had done the right thing.

After Tarifa I went straight to the Baltic Sea, north of Germany where my girl's camp took part. Every year (the 3rd year now) I organize a camp for all the kitesurf-girls in Germany that can already go upwind and start jumping. The goal is to motivate more female kiteboarders in Germany to push themselves harder, to learn new moves and, in the end, to compete in the German competitions. The camp is free of charge so I have a lot of girls showing up every time. It is always a lot of fun and the girls are happy about all the help they get on the water and on land. I was also very happy about the help I got! Red Bull Germany, Mystic and the Surfcenter Wustrow helped me with getting the camp together and sponsored our big tent, all the food and Lycras, caps and a great time for the girls! Thanks a lot!
